Lazy Man Triathlon

WHAT:  The ironman triathlon is one of the hardest events in the world, consisting of a 2.4 mile swim, 112 mile bike ride and 26.2 mile run.  Are you up for the challenge? This is a great way to train for the Y Be Fit Reverse triathlon, a full triathlon, or a half marathon.

WHY: Sign-up for the Y Be Fit Reverse Triathlon and use the Lazyman Triathlon to train for the event. It is also a fun way to improve your fitness level and show yourself you are stronger than you think.

WHO:  All levels are welcome.  The best part about the Lazyman Triathlon is that you can complete it at your own pace, and if you get some friends   together it will make it that much more fun.

WHEN: The Lazyman Triathlon Begins Friday September 1st, and you get 30 days (Saturday September 30th) to complete your triathlon.

WHERE: You can complete your miles here at the PDAC, at home, or on the road.  Just be sure to use your tracker sheet to record everything you do.

HOW:  You get 30 days to complete the following, all on the honor system.  We will provide a form to track your miles.  You may also track your miles on the large board pool side for al little extra competitive fun.  When the form is complete, return it to the front desk at PDAC on or before October 1st to receive your t-shirt.  With 30 days (4 weeks) to compete, here is a (suggested) weekly breakdown:

  • 43 lengths (short course) per week
  • 28 miles cycling per week (here, in the gym, or on the road)
  • 6.6 miles running/walking per week
